Investors In People retained
IMEX has successfully retained recognition as meeting the National Standard
for effective Investment in People following a post recognition review.
The standard was first awarded to IMEX in November 2002 and has had an
important role
in providing the structure underpinning company growth over
the last three years. |

Commercial laminating
IMEX print have expanded their in-house finishing capacity with the installation
of a new SRA2 commercial laminator from AutoBond. For high volume matt
and gloss laminating, this heavy-duty thermal laminator provides a
perfect
finish
every time,
even
when laminating
2,500
sheets
per hour.

New folder speeds production
IMEX Print have invested in a new Heidelberg Stahl
folder with cross-fold
attachment to dramatically
increase in-house print finishing speeds. The
new
machine will enable a
far greater variety of folds
to be produced in-house and increase finishing
capacity four-fold, providing a faster turnaround
of customers' work.

IMEX moves to new premises!
IMEX have now finished construction and moved all production, sales and
administration to a new 10,000sq' factory and offices at Swansea. The move
follows a sustained
growth in business, investment in new production equipment and an expansion
of
services.

New website launched
IMEX Display launched a new website this month www.vinyl-banners.co.uk concentrating
on large format graphics, exterior vinyl, signs and banner printing. The
new, in- depth website contains a wealth of information, technology
and online price guides for all kinds of large format graphics.

Architectural plan printing
A new plan printing service was launched this month with the commissioning
of anew Xerox XES Synergix 8825 large format led printer, scanner and Oce
940 folder. IMEX can now offer architects and engineers a door to door
plan copying and printing service, folded to specification including enlargements
and reductions to scale.

New stadium contract
IMEX has won the contract to manage marketing and advertising opportunities
at Swansea's prestigious new stadium. IMEX will also be creating the new
corporate identity and handling production requirements. Tim Howells, chief
executive of the Stadium Management Company said 'we wanted to use a local
company who had the experience and
in-house production resources to manage
all our marketing and advertising requirements'.

Expanding into new markets
IMEX Display received a major investment in new technology this month with
the purchase of a class-leading Seiko ColorPainter large format solvent
printer and a 60" Mimaki contour cutting plotter.
The new equipment will enable the in-house production of large format exterior
vinyl graphics, banners, signs, decals and vehicle graphics.

£116.5k INVESTMENT
AIDED BY WELSH ASSEMBLY
IMEX has finalised a two year programme of investment for strategic growth
working in conjunction with the Welsh Assembly Government and the Neath
& Port Talbot Local Authority. The programme will see £116,500
invested over a two year period in new pressroom and pre-press equipment
and the employment of four new full time staff in our studio, print, display
and web divisions. |

TRAINING COMMITMENT
Building on last year's successful Investors in People accreditation and
working closely with The National Council for Education and Learning
in Wales (ELWA), IMEX has formally committed to the 'Company Learning Account'
agreement. This tripartate agreement between IMEX, ELWA and supported by
Dutton Jones Associates (as management development advisers), forms
the basis for a long term commitment to business performance
and improvement through the development of all staff. This is achieved
through responsive management mentoring, training and advice together with
other
human resource solutions. |

SATELLITE BROADBAND
Online communications at IMEX received a boost this month with the installation
of a state-of-the-art company-wide satellite broadband system from Aramiska.
The new system is in response to customers' increasing preference to supply
artwork via ftp in addition to traditional ISDN data transfer.
The technology affords
IMEX far faster online communication for proofing, customer service and
download speeds for large graphic data files. |

IMEX today to see for himself the benefits delivered
by a major investment in state-of-the-art studio
workstations and pre-press equipment. The £32,000
studio refurbishment was made possible by an Inward
Investment
grant
awarded by the Welsh Assembly. The implementation
of future technologies has enabled a huge boost
in productivity and enabled the appointment of
four new members of staff. |
